Box breathing is the fastest way to calm and reset the nervous system and is the chosen method used by the Navy SEALs to calm and focus quickly. It stimulates the vagus nerve and promotes a general feeling of relaxation in the body rapidly.


How To:

Step 1: Slowly inhale for a count of 4 seconds; feeling the air entering and expanding your lungs.

Step 2: Hold that breath for a count of 4 seconds.

Step 3: Exhale your breath for a count of 4 seconds.

Step 4: Hold that exhaled breath for a count of 4 seconds.

Step 5: Repeat this for 4 cycles.
